Quality control of cell-based therapeutics
The aim of the “ZellTherQC” joint project is to develop an adaptable strategy for improved quality control (QC) of human cells that are used in cell-based therapies. The strategy not only includes so-called standard operating procedures (SOPs) and instructions for action, but also the development of devices and diagnostics that can be used as part of the quality control of different cell therapeutics. The project is being implemented jointly by three SMEs and four research institutions and coordinated by Eura AG as part of a ZIM innovation network.
In its sub-project, the Cell Processing Working Group develops new technologies and devices for cell culture monitoring. An automated process is used to determine quality-relevant parameters such as cell movement, cell division and cell size and to create growth curves.
